Receiving Christ As Lord and Saviour

Q. Me . . . receiving Jesus as my Lord and Saviour? . . . I'm okay. I was raised in a good family and I'm not that bad. In fact, I am really blessed . . . see. But, you know what? The guy next door is really bad . . .

A. Well, you and the guy next door are no different. The Bible says that "There is no one righteous, not even one . . . for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"(Romans 3: 10, 23)

Q. So what if we have all sinned. What's the big deal?

A. If death is a big deal to you then listen to what the Bible says concerning sin . . . "For the penalty of sin is death . . . (Romans 6:23) without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness." (Hebrews 9:22)

Q. What . . . sinners die because of sin? Must I die too?

A. No. You don't have to. God loves you and me so much . . . "God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

Q. But …… how can I benefit from the death of Christ? Do I have to carry the cross the same way he did?

A. No. His death is sufficient. However, you must receive him as Lord and Saviour for the Bible says . . . "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord", and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believed and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." (Romans 10:9-10)

Q. I can't wait. Can I receive him now?

A. Yes. Follow me in this prayer and make it your own personal prayer . . .

"Heavenly Father, I thank you for loving me so much that you gave your only begotten son to die for my sins. I admit that I have sinned against you. Forgive me for all of my sins. I receive Jesus Christ in my heart as my Lord and Saviour. I believe that He died for my sins and by His rising from the dead He has given me a new life. I confess that I am Born Again in Christ Jesus. Amen."

Congratulations my friend. You have just been snatched from the clutches of hell. Now you can walk in victory. Always remember that: "if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come." (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Now that you are in Christ, "like new born babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that you may grow in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good." (1 Peter 2:2-3) Join us in our Sunday Worship Services or our Saturday Bible Study.
